Will the current financial crisis create the rebirth of Fascism?

I've heard lots of comparisons of the current crisis to the 1930's Depression. If that helped create fascist governments will we see a similar situation in the next decade or so? Or perhaps the birth of a new extreme political movement?

Your Q is thought provoking and profound at the same time..after comparing the worlds financial crisis to the wiki article on fascism I see why you ponder,..my answer is that it's not too early and not too late for a recovery from this dilemma which will affect the world's populace either way...the steps to be taken for a recovery are underway as we speak, this may fail as you question the potentiality of all parties involved meaning yes it could be forecast as a new world order may be the solution although there will be total chaos and disorder during confrontations with other social world governments that will not participate,..which would inevitably lead to non-compromising clashes amongst world leaders who wish to maintain or unjustifiably go their own way (*not naming which countries, bad luck to presume)..my educated guess and yes just a guess at this juncture would be that if a solution is not manifested say within the next decade then all hell will surface and the outcome will be no fascism nor democracy will exist any longer on this planet..as for a one world federation of governments to rule that will take more than a decade to preclude business as it was before madness raised its many heads way before the Depression of the 30's...this answer is not complete as the issue has just reared its ugly head...we can only hope that this new Democratic President of the US has the foresight and negotiating skills to accomodate others who are and will always be stubborn culturally in their ways..everyone is right and no one is wrong attitudes must change, their visions for life to survive as we know it to continue to flourish must agree on a solution amicably...a very tough order as the world is now...but perhaps with just the right timing and breaks peace will be restored as it was in the beginning,..yes, a very tall order indeed..Peace~Will the current financial crisis create the rebirth of Fascism?
It is definitely a possibility.

Basically there are two ways we can go from here.

One is understanding the global nature of the crisis, and understanding the humanity is totally interconnected, basically we are a single family, so we have to act this way, united and helping each other.

The other way is going into isolation, with protectionist measures, which could lead to Nazi regimes, and associated problems.

Here are some short articles on this:

But it does not only affect Germany, it could happen anywhere, a hollywood film "V for Vendetta" depicts a very possible scenario in England for example.

Here is a short sarcastic video on how most politicians react to such crisis situations:

No, in-fact what this country is thinking is socialism (nationalizing industry and a progressive tax) is miniscule compared to how real socialism is in other countries in the world.

The closest thing to fascism is the use of the Patriot Act and national I.D. cards.
No the war on terror did that.
