What is the reason for the current financial crisis in the US of A?

IMHO, the governments' lack of regulating outright thievery in the largest corporations. Haven't you noticed a company may lose millions, the employees have to take a cut in pay and benefits, while the top brass get raises and huge bonuses?

Add that the new bankruptcy laws were written by MBNA (credit card company) and supported by Pres. Bush, as they were his 2nd largest campaign contributor.

But you know what? Americans are tough. Get them ticked off and they will act. We'll get through this - somehow. That is my prayer, belief and hope for the future.

Blue collar jobs here going overseas is another huge factor.

Then there's the credit card companies courting low income folks, the mortgage companies lending too much to those who they know probably can't pay it back, corporate fraud and lenient sentences and Presidential pardons...sorry - I can't go on. It's too upsetting to me.

I hope we do. The bail out didn't pass and I'm glad and not! I don't even know what to think about that. Huge corporations get help, but the little guys are left to rot and ruin. It's scary out there, isn't it?
