Do you think that given the current financial crisis, we should stop spending so much money on Hurricanes?

All we hear is that Hurricane King-Arthur (for example) cost the insurance companies 20 Billion, and that Hurricane Lady-Diana wiped out some town in Texas at a cost of $ 4Billion dollars or something like that.



I think the US government should stop wasting money on hurricanes such as these, if anything they do more harm than good.



I just think the money could be better spent...Do you think that given the current financial crisis, we should stop spending so much money on Hurricanes?

Spending such as Hurricane Relief is necessary, people are left without homes and food.



We should stop spending money on war and Bear Research in Alaska.
I think specific cities vulnerable to severe weather should be re-considered... maybe move them to a safer location rather than continually rebuild with insurance money (that makes everyones rates go up)... use Federal funding to relocate New Orleans for example. Maybe its nostalgic for some, but the rest of the country pays for it ultimately. The core problem is to control Government spending... so much is mishandled and managed poorly that its not effiecient... the politicians are not qualified to manage Billions of dollars, they have proven this... we need to run it like a business... get some Microsoft, UPS, %26amp; any other successful business people in their to consult and we'll thrive... by the way, people should know that our economy is still the most powerful economic force in the World... the State of Delaware generates more than the entire country of Iran... California by itself is the 5th largest economy in the World... also our country is by far the youngest compared to others, we may have stumbled but like a child still capable of running... we are living in the greatest country in the world, others are envious for sure... I think the US government should spend more on helping victims of hurricanes and less on all these wars we keep starting.
