With the new Textfree with Voice update there is free texting to Germany. Does this mean that Germany can text?

In the newest update to Textfree with Voice for the iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad 18 new countries were added for free texting. Germany was one of these countries added. I know this means that I can text any mobile phone in Germany free of charge to me. What my question is is can someone I'm Germany text my Textfree number (U.S) long-distance for free? Or does it have to be part of their plan for free long-distance texting?

Along somewhat similar lines, is Textfree with Voice on the German/European app store? If so, can I text between my U.S. number and their number for free?

Thanks for all related answers! Official Pinger quotes/links would be appreciated! Thanks!

This is not hypothetical in any way. I really do have a friend who lives in Germany, but since he's moved back, we haven't been able to text because neither of us have had the plans. Thanks one last time! With the new Textfree with Voice update there is free texting to Germany. Does this mean that Germany can text?
Hi there!

Sorry for the confusion, but the product Pinger makes in Germany, Pinger SMS free, does not enable texting to Textfree numbers or any numbers outside of Germany, and Textfree is not available in the German app stores at this time.

You should ask your friend in Germany to log on to Textfree Web - http://pinger.com/textfree - and create a Textfree account from their computer. This way, you can still talk to them for free using Textfree!

If you have any questions, you can head to http://www.pinger.zendesk.com and click “submit a request” to ask our Support team for assistance!
