Not unless if you really like Japan.

No sign in employment situation. Is there any point in going to live %26amp; work in Japan during this financial crisis?
There are ALWAYS jobs teaching English in Japan. ALWAYS. You just might get somewhere stuck in the middle of nowhere. There is a minimum wage for those with a degree that they have to pay you a min. of somewhere around 30,000 dollars a year. Check out Ohayo Sensei, a bi monthy newsletter with jobs you can arrange before going over there, but be careful. Japan is a tough place to live due to major cultural differences. I recommend Taiwan or Korea for teaching English.. People are more friendly. Any other questions I'll be happy to answer. Is there any point in going to live %26amp; work in Japan during this financial crisis?I know people there, and they tell me there's no signs of things getting better. Many are taking any job they can get.

Teaching English isn't the dream job it once was. Many people get burned out and quit just after a year or two.As some Japanese students become more westernized, they are more difficult to deal with.

If you want to teach English,I'd give it a try.But be aware most

contracts will be for one year.Is there any point in going to live %26amp; work in Japan during this financial crisis?
Not really. I am a retired sailor and postal worker living in Japan, but I don't have to work any more, luckly. I have been in and out of Japan since 1976.Is there any point in going to live %26amp; work in Japan during this financial crisis?if you want to get rich, no. if you want to experience something different from the west then yes. as the economy dropped from it's peak during the bubble so has the income of english teachers. there are many conversation schools all competing for the same buck, students fees have fallen as have the numbers of students taking english, along with a rise in the number of westerners visiting or working here . you'll find a job if you have a degree but you wont get rich, at least financially.
