Where is the KING or QUEEN of England amidst the Global Financial Crisis?

Why aren't they lending a hand, why don't they spend some or donate some or give some money to ease a little bit of problem? Why don't they make themselves useful? What's point of honoring, bowing or acknowledging them if they're not gonna use their wealth for something significant rather than just sit their and show off their bloated history?Where is the KING or QUEEN of England amidst the Global Financial Crisis? Why don't you spend some or donate some or give money to ease a little bit of problem? What about the King of Tonga? How about the Thai royalty? Why not you're next door neighbours? There is no King of England.Where is the KING or QUEEN of England amidst the Global Financial Crisis?
first of all, there is no king of England....Where is the KING or QUEEN of England amidst the Global Financial Crisis?"Crisis? What crisis?" (HM the queen).
This kind of thing is more of Parliament's business. While Queen Elizabeth II (most people know England/UK has a queen) is ruler of the United Kingdom, the position has come to be sort of a more ceremonial one after the hundreds of years monarchs have ruled.

No one has enough money to solve their country's financial crisis. It would help if Bill Gates gave all of his money to the United States government, but our debts far outweigh his wealth in liquid assets. There also isn't an established way for someone to "give" the government money; it's funded by the taxes the people pay. It isn't a charity.Where is the KING or QUEEN of England amidst the Global Financial Crisis?England doesn't have a king. Where is the KING or QUEEN of England amidst the Global Financial Crisis?
Firstly King or Queen? you mean queen right. There is no King, just the Queen and surely you knew that. Sceondly most of the wealth of the Royal family is in property. Secondly the number of charities and trusts and donations the Royal family give is actually amazing. They do lots more for this country than you do. I'm no monarchist- in fact I think on a purely democratic level that the monarchy should go as a tier of Government but to call them uncharitable. This questions really just reflects your ignorance about what the royal family is and what it does
There is no King or Queen of England. The monarch (King or Queen) is the King or Queen of the United Kingdom!Where is the KING or QUEEN of England amidst the Global Financial Crisis?
King OR Queen... D'OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Queen lives off of the people of Britain...
It isn't the Queen's responsibility. She is a public figurehead, a representative of our country. She gets paid off our taxes.

The Royal Family do use their money to do significant things: http://www.princes-trust.org.uk/ thats just one of them.

There isn't a King of England at the moment, only the Queen, Elizabeth II.
Well we don't have a King. The Queen is patron, that is she gives her support, to 620 charities.

Why select the Queen as your subject for this question? There are many richer people in the World and the global financial crisis is an economic issue, nothing at all to do with the Monarchy.
right now England has no King.

The head of state is QUEEN ELIZABETH.

The Queen is not allowed to comment on anything that could be considered politics. She can't even vote. Honest!

If the Queen were donating money, we wouldn't know.

But a good deal, NOT ALL, but a lot of the money the Queen "has"

is really her total value. As crude as that sounds. So all the jewels, houses ETC that are "hers" but she is NOT allowed to sell or dispose of. Are included.

For example when Charles and Diana married she received many gems, watches ETC. She was allowed their use in her lifetime. But they belong to the crown.

That's why you see Camilla in the pearl choker Diana used to wear often. It all goes in the pot. Diana took that from the pot herself. The Queen Mother used to wear it in her younger days... and I think it goes back to Queen Victoria.

The royal family cannot give it away or leave it to anyone in a will. Because it is NOT actually theirs to DISPOSE of.

The Queen's job is being a constant. It is not her you really are honoring it's the idea of an unchanging security. A respect for heritage.

I am not a Brit. I'm an American that has lived in another monarchy for over 10 years. At first I thought the royals were archaic thing. But after living here I have come to see, that they do have a value. (I'm happy America is NOT a monarchy! but I understand it much better than before)

Queen Elizabeth is a rather cold figure compared to some other monarchs. I have seen the Queen here on TV with her hair NOT done hugging people in a disaster. I don't see the English monarchy making that connection. And that may be why people loved Diana. She was royal, but she was YOU/US too.

So the short answer is. The Queen is doing her job.
We don't have a king - we have a queen. The Queen does not involve herself in politics. Decision making is delegated to her elected Government.
The monarch (King or Queen) is the King or Queen of the United Kingdom!

Why don't you just mind your own business. Worry about what happens in your own country not ours.
There is no King in Great Britain, if Queen Elizabeth dies, then Charles will be King.

I'm an American and no Royalist, but I doubt even if the Windsors sold off their extra castles and a large portion of the royal jewels (I mean she could keep a tiara or two and some necklaces, I'm not saying everything) and put the money in the public coffers, I'm not sure that would last very long. They do donate a lot to charity. One of the complaints when Diana was alive was her charitable donations were getting a lot of attention and the rest of the family quietly contributed both money and time.

I don't know if all the rich people in the world gave up luxuries that would solve this problem, but there certainly is a lot of excess and I don't know how some of the movies stars, etc. can afford it.
silver c your answer was very insightful
You are so misinformed it's not even funny,There is no such thing as a King or Queen of England. Maybe if you read your BLOATED history you would know that.Edit....perhaps you could send Bill Gates a note, he has a few dollars I believe.
I'm of the opinion that it's morally unjustifiable for one family to have so much money from the public purse, when so many people in our society have very little. I find it a set of circumstances that is backward in the extreme. If people want a Queen fine, but couldn't we just pay her 拢40,000 a year to do it ? And maybe get a good actor in to play the part as well ? I'm surely not alone when I scoff at this notion that Liz is Gods representative on Earth.
aks the queen and write her a letter. do not know. but the money and the crown jewels that she has including land and assets. she could do it.
The Queen is actually very economical and doesn't like to waste anything . She's knows to keep left overs for the next day etc.even small amounts. And grows her own veggies and uses her own resources for food, which with wealthy people you don't see very often indeed.

And does not spend as much on her clothing as you'd think.

Hope this helps a little .
Sitting in their mansion counting their money :))
The queen of UK is actually German, so she is now having beer in Bavaria, wheras the King is Greek and is suntaning with tiopless models on the greek islands!!!
We'll the QUEEN of England doesn't really have that much money to be honest. They have no right to any money paid by taxes they are just "paid" or looked after by the government. Even though they live in mansions and go to posh schools they really aren't that wealthy in dollar terms.
